Surrey Women’s Rugby seal top-3 finish in BUCS 7s Trophy Championship!

University of Surrey Women’s Rugby sealed an impressive top-three finish in the BUCS Rugby 7s Trophy Championship at West Park RUFC in Leeds after competing in five tough games up north.

The team beat Leeds Beckett, Cardiff Met and Newcastle to qualify for the semi-finals, where they lost 24-0 to Loughborough after losing 22-10 in the pool. Overall, Surrey finished third alongside Durham which is an achievement to be proud of.

Head of Rugby Elliott Lewis said: “It was the first time Surrey have entered the BUCS sevens, finishing 3rd with established clubs such as Exeter, Durham & Loughborough is a testament to the progress made by everyone involved both on and off the field”
