Team Surrey Swimming trio represent region at World Championships qualifying event!

Dual Career Programme swimmers Rhiannon Bowen, Maisie Thornton and Ewan Taylor travelled to Luxembourg in January to compete in a World Championships qualification meet.

The trio were selected by Swim England South East Region due to their strong results at the winter regional championships in November, and the Team Surrey performance swimmers competed alongside World and Olympic champions at the Luxembourg Euro Meet 2023.

The Team Surrey cohort had a strong weekend as they kicked off the long course portion of the season, effectively managing race processes and considering technical aspects of events. All swimmers featured in both heats and finals events, with Maisie qualifying for the women’s A final in the 200m Butterfly.
