University of Surrey Swimming’s club president Ewan Taylor enjoyed a weekend of fast swimming and lifetime bests at the Scottish National Championships in Aberdeen Sports Village on the first weekend of July.
Taylor, a member of the Scottish Development Programme, faced tough competition from English, Irish and Welsh competitors but came out on top as the Scottish 50m freestyle champion.
Adding to the medal haul, Taylor also raced to two lifetime bests in 50m Butterfly – with a time of 26.74 seconds – and the 100m freestyle where he clocked a speedy 53.39 seconds to qualify him for the final.
Ewan had this to say about the event: “I was happy to be close to my lifetime best I set at British Champs in April without taper or shave, so I’m looking forward to challenging for a medal at British Nationals at the end of the month.”
Team Surrey congratulate Ewan on his recent success and wish him all the best for British Championships in a few weeks’ time.
