This monthly publication is the central hub for all SurreyMoves+ information including the latest announcements, new challenges & rewards, and user statistics. Here’s some of the best bits you can expect from this month’s edition…

We would like to remind users to connect a tracker and ensure this is synced with the app at least once every seven days. This is to ensure that all activity is rewarded with redeemable points.

NEW REWARDS ARE NOW LIVE!

As we approach the end of the academic year but the start of summer, new rewards are now popping up on the SurreyMoves+ app. Surrey Sports Park rewards are back with the opportunity to claim a FREE pass to access the Gym, Swimming Pool, Climbing Wall, Yoga and Fitness Classes. Head to the Rewards section of the app to find out more about each reward and to make the most of your points before the points reset at the end of July!

TRY OUT A MAY CHALLENGE!

With exams and deadlines just around the corner, there is no better time to get yourself moving regularly with one of our monthly May challenges. Whether it involves changing your walk to campus or just getting out more, it’s important to take a break and spend some time away from your desk each day. Don’t want to wait a whole month for those prize points? You can also try a weekly challenge by joining one of the five public groups on the Moves+ app and selecting the challenge you want to smash that week.

Some of our May monthly challenges include:

THE MAY GIVEAWAY IS HERE!

Our second big raffle month of the academic year has arrived! Use your hard-earned points to enter prize draws and put yourself in the mix to win one of our fantastic prizes. You can enter for as many prizes as you want as many times as you want – as long as you have the points to do so!

To enter, simply head to the Rewards section of the app and redeem the draw you would like to be entered in. Then, don’t worry about the code you are given as we will contact you if you are successful.

SUPPORTING YOU DURING EXAM SEASON
Exercise and Physical Activity have been proven to help reduce stress and improve mental well-being. Therefore, alongside the other services provided by the University and Student’s Union, here at SurreyMoves+ we will be trying to help in exam season. From having healthy snacks available as rewards to fuel your revision, to more weekly challenges available for you to complete. We will also be releasing a set of recipes that are healthy and quick to make, ensuring you stay at your best while revising.

Finally, among other events, we will be releasing a series of quick exercises, completed in your bedroom or just away from your desks. Even though it is important to make sure you are fully prepared for your exams, it is equally important to make sure you take some time away from your desk to recharge your batteries and enjoy the increasingly improving weather.

DR BIKE SESSION
With summer now upon us, there is no better time to get active out and about on your bike!

To ensure your bike is road-ready, come and stop by our Dr Bike session at Surrey Sports Park entrance on Tuesday 10th May from 10am to 2pm for a free bike check. The Geared Up Cycles team will check your bike to ensure everything is in order so you are ready to hit the road over the coming months. With accessories available to upgrade your bike, it’s also the perfect opportunity to get yourself kitted out for a summer of cycling. There will also be some fun challenges to enjoy while your bike gets serviced such as a watt bike and smoothie bike challenge.
