Dual Career Programme
A University Dual Career is a pathway where sport and education are both valued and is an opportunity for an individual to reach their sporting, academic, work and life potential.
The Dual Career Programme has been created to support high-performance athletes who are studying alongside their sporting commitments.
The University of Surrey is home to many British and International Dual Career Student-Athletes who show exceptional potential in their academic and athletic pursuits.

To help maximise their potential, Team Surrey provides a package of support tailored to the complex Dual Career lifestyle and the demands student-athletes face.
There are two award levels on the Dual Career Programme: Elite and Talented. Criteria and support will vary depending on the award level.

If you wish to be considered for the Dual Career Programme you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a prospective undergraduate/postgraduate student for entry into the University of Surrey 2022/23.
- Be a current student registered at the University of Surrey 2022/23
- Currently competing at a national or international level in a sport OR demonstrate potential to compete to this standard
- Be able to support and drive one of our sports teams or clubs to higher success
Applications for the Dual Career Programme open on Monday 4th July 2022 and close on Friday 30th September 2022.
Spaces on the Dual Career Programme are limited and so eligibility is no guarantee of a particular level of support or even a successful application. Please note, we welcome applications for all sports, but priority will be given to athletes who are NOT currently receiving support from their National Governing Body and/or Professional Sports Team. This is so we can offer support to those individuals who may need it most, where this sort of contribution has the most impact and makes the most difference.
We look forward to reviewing your application soon and hope to support you through your dual career. If you have any questions or require further information, please get in touch via the Contact Us box below
