Scholarships And Bursaries

A Sport Scholarship Award is a non-repayable cash award that is given directly to an athlete who shows potential or currently competes at the highest level within their sport.

Team Surrey performance student-athletes are eligible to apply for additional financial support through a number of scholarships. These awards are open to any athlete funded by the Dual Career Programme or who are competing on one of our Performance Squads.

Check out each scholarship below for an overview of this year’s scholars, as well as information about the funding organisation.

ELIGIBILITY

If you wish to be considered for the Sport Scholarships Award you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a prospective undergraduate/postgraduate student for entry into the University of Surrey 2022/23.
  2. Be a current student registered at the University of Surrey 2022/23
  3. Perform at elite or talented level standard in one of Team Surrey’s Performance Sports: Basketball, Netball, Rowing, Rugby, Squash or Swimming
  4. OR currently competing at a national or international level in a sport not included in the list above OR demonstrate potential to compete to this standard
APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications for Sport Scholarship Awards open on Monday 4th July 2022 and close on Friday 30th September 2022.

Awards are limited and so eligibility is no guarantee of a particular level of support or even a successful application. Please note, we welcome applications for all sports, but priority will be given to athletes who are NOT currently receiving financial support from their National Governing Body and/or Professional Sports Team. This is so we can offer support to those individuals who may need it most, where this sort of contribution has the most impact and makes the most difference.

We look forward to reviewing your application soon and hope to support you through your dual career. If you have any questions or require further information, please get in touch via the Contact Us box at the bottom of the Dual Career Programme website page.

The University of Surrey also provide a number of scholarships and bursaries not relating to sport. Please visit their website for more information.
