Team Surrey is excited to reveal the Refreshers Week 2024 timetable and it’s set to be a good one, with events taking place between Monday 5th February and Sunday 11th February!
The week will see Surrey Sports Park play host to two major event; the Bucs Wednesday Showcase event on Wednesday 7th February and Active Refreshers on Sunday 11th February.
Refreshers Week sees the return of Freshers Fair on Tuesday 6th February at The Marquee on Stag Hill campus followed by Archon ‘Get Your Rating’ on Saturday 10th February after the franchise game. ‘Get Your Rating’ is ready to challenge you as we’re on the hunt to find the fittest student in the country.

Team Surrey Pop-Up
Monday 5th February from 10:00am – 15:00pm at AP Plaza
Try your hand at a series of sports on AP Plaza! There will be a range of sports to get involved in including basketball, mini tennis and Boccia! This will be a chilled-out activity day as well as being a perfect chance to find out more about Team Surrey with staff members on hand to answer your questions.
Freshers Fair
Tuesday 6th February from 10:00am – 16:00pm at The Marquee on PATS Field
Join us at February Freshers’ Fair! Your chance to meet and sign up to Sports Clubs & Societies; to discover volunteering opportunities; or just meet the team and pick up freebies!
Housed in The Marquee on PATS Field, February Freshers’ Fair is filled with stands from students and departments across the University, as well as a number of well-known brands. Come along and meet new people, sign up and try new experiences or develop existing interests. If you are new to the University this is the ideal time to see what is on offer and make the most of your student experience.
BUCS Wednesday Spectator Showcase Event
Wednesday 7th February from 13:00pm – 19:00pm at Surrey Sports Park Arenas
Come and show your support at the first ever BUCS Wednesday Showcase Event at Surrey Sports Park! This will be an action-packed, competitive afternoon of head-to-head games from our Netball and Basketball teams as they face their league oppositions. There will be music, lights, offers at Bench Bar and an all-round great atmosphere.
Entry to the arena is at 12:30pm.

Archon ‘Get Your Rating’

Ever wondered about your fitness level? You might be running, rowing, or lifting, but have you ever truly gauged your fitness? We’re not just talking about the workouts you complete – we want to know your true potential.
Head on down to Surrey Sports Park gym on Saturday 10th February to challenge yourself and get your rating!

Active Refreshers
Sunday 11th February from 10:00am – 20:00pm at Surrey Sports Park
Active Refreshers is your chance to try out an array of different activities and meet our sports clubs for FREE. The event operates in exactly the same way as Active Freshers in September, albeit that the event takes place in Semester 2 instead and students have the opportunity to join sports clubs in the new year.
This is the go-to event for anyone looking to get involved in new activities and to learn more about Team Surrey. The majority of activities will take place at Surrey Sports Park, the home of Team Surrey, giving you the chance to try out some of the world class facilities.
There’s sure to be something for everyone!
