GradSport is the annual competition where the current students compete against the University graduates. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate sport at Surrey and to relive your favourite sporting and university moments.

GradSport also helps raise money to support student sports at Surrey. Through match fees and through supporting our Forever Surrey fund, we’re able to support Team Surrey’s dream: that all students can take part in sports whilst studying at Surrey and that those who have talent can be supported to reach their true potential.

41 matches across 29 sports took place and we welcomed over 1000 competitors to the one day event. The alumni’s secured the victory across the individual and team sports, where they were crowned winners of the 9th Grad Sport. The Alumni won 45 – 41. This makes it 5-4 to the alumni on the overall leaderboard.

Graduates travel far and wide to return to the event, with many making the trip from overseas to reunite and relive their university days with old friends. The event features a ‘Forever Surrey Zone’, which consists of catering stalls, red bull tent, family fun challenges/activities, food, drink, music and a seating area for participants and their guests to use throughout the event. This year we boosted the atmosphere and engagement in the Activity Zone and the live streaming of volleyball and basketball went down well on the outside big digital screen.

Next year is the 10th anniversary of Grad Sport and we will be looking to make the event even better.
