We would like to remind you that any students who hold a Gold Annual membership at Surrey Sports Park have exclusive access to the BUCS UNIversal scheme across the country.
This is a national scheme which allows you to use your SSP membership to access a total of 62 institution gyms. In order to use the scheme, you will need to register your account through the BUCS Play app or website. You can then use this online portal to book your sessions at any of the enrolled institutions.
If you’re a SSP Gold Annual member, here’s how you can set up your BUCS UNIversal membership…
- Download the BUCS Play app or visit the website
Log in to BUCS Play with your existing account or Register to create a new account.
- Search for UNIversal Gym of Study
Once logged in, click the Search button at the bottom of the screen and scroll up to change the search option to UNIversal Gym of Study. Search for Guildford and find University of Surrey on the list.
- Click Join
Read the description and click the Join button. You should also then click the link to view the Privacy Policy and tick the box to provide consent.
- Fill in your details
You must then click Apply before filling in your details and confirming your eligibility. Then you can click ‘Join’ followed by ‘Complete’.
- Wait for your membership to be approved
Click ‘Go To Community’ and then select ‘UNIversal Gym Membership 2021-22’. You will then be able to see that you are awaiting approval.
- You will receive email confirmation
We will let you know once your application has been approved. In the meantime, you can check your status via the app.
Once your UNIversal Gym Membership is activated, you can use the BUCS Play app to book gym sessions at any of the enrolled institutions.
Simply search for Gym Sessions in the ‘Search’ function of the app and specify your location as well as the distance you are willing to travel. You can then select the location, date and time of your gym session.
